Welcome...

Welcome to The Purpose Driven Knife! I created PDK so that I could explore my love for cooking while sharing with the world the tricks I've learned over the years. As a self proclaimed perfectionist it's safe to assume that I have a method for just about everything I do and that I'm always looking for the perfect solution to any given problem. Friends and family can and will attest to the fact that I'm a stubborn person and at times almost compulsive in my attempts to perfect a process or approach, in and outside of the kitchen. In certain scenarios these qualities can lead to disastrous results however I've found that these same traits serve me (and my pallet) quite well in the kitchen. Being a self taught chef, when it comes to technique I can't say for sure whether my ways are the absolute best ways or not. What I can say is that every one of my tips and recipes come from years and years of trial and error, endlessly working and reworking dishes until I think they're absolutely perfect in every way. I cook with a purpose and with passion because it's the only way I know how. It's almost impossible for me to just throw a dish together. In my mind I'm always creating the perfect dish each time, and every step from start to finish is scrutinized thoroughly. This is my approach to cooking because I truly love food and because I'm a very particular person. I'm not trying to break any molds, I just want to talk about food the way I see it. So if you're still hungry, try some of my recipes and techniques for yourself, and enjoy.
